At FLB, we aim to introduce as many people as possible to the sport of fierljeppen. You can pursue it as a sport, you can volunteer or you can simply come and watch the competitions. We also have a strong presence on social media: ‘More and more people are discovering the sport of fierljeppen.’.
FLB and its affiliated clubs have been organising competitive events since 1960. Fierljeppen is very much a summer sport. Competitions start in May and end in September with the Dutch Fierljeppen Championship (Nederlands Kampioenschap). The sport no longer resembles the canal leaping of the early days. New records are set every year. Today, men in the top senior category frequently jump distances of 20 metres or more. Each club has two ramps for young members, who have their own youth competitions.
At FLB, we are committed to taking the sport of fierljeppen to the next level. But we cannot do this alone. We need the help of clubs, participants, parents, associations and volunteers. By sharing as much knowledge and experience as possible, we can make progress. Our vision for 2022-2027 is: ‘Working together to advance the sport of fierljeppen.’.

De Nederlandse Fierljepbond (NFB) is opgericht met het doel om het fierljeppen in Nederland te behouden, te bevorderen en in goede banen te leiden.
At the moment, two associations are affiliated. These are the Frysk Ljeppers Boun (FLB) and the Polsstok Bond Holland (PBH). Together they represent a group of approximately 600 active fierljeppers in the Netherlands. The PBH and the FLB each have a separate competition and in three joint competitions they compete against each other: The Tweekamp, the Dutch Fierljep Manifestation in It Heidenskip and the Dutch Championship.

The Polsstokbond Holland (PBH) is the association for fierljeppen in the region of Utrecht. Six associations are active in this region. Since the beginning of the foundation, there have always been good athletes in Holland who always enter into a sporting battle with the Frisian fierljeppers. It also happens regularly that ljeppers switch from one association to another due to work or study.
