At FLB, we aim to introduce as many people as possible to the sport of fierljeppen. You can pursue it as a sport, you can volunteer or you can simply come and watch the competitions. We also have a strong presence on social media: ‘More and more people are discovering the sport of fierljeppen.’.
FLB and its affiliated clubs have been organising competitive events since 1960. Fierljeppen is very much a summer sport. Competitions start in May and end in September with the Dutch Fierljeppen Championship (Nederlands Kampioenschap). The sport no longer resembles the canal leaping of the early days. New records are set every year. Today, men in the top senior category frequently jump distances of 20 metres or more. Each club has two ramps for young members, who have their own youth competitions.
At FLB, we are committed to taking the sport of fierljeppen to the next level. But we cannot do this alone. We need the help of clubs, participants, parents, associations and volunteers. By sharing as much knowledge and experience as possible, we can make progress. Our vision for 2022-2027 is: ‘Working together to advance the sport of fierljeppen.’.

Since 2020 we can proudly say that Het Frysk Ljeppers Boun has three new main sponsors: Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma, Rabobank and FB Oranjewoud. The organizations jointly support the four Frisian sports associations: the Sponsorstichting Gewest Fryslân KNSB, the Koninklijke Nederlandse Kaats Bond (KNKB), the Sintrale Kommisje Skûtsjesilen (SKS) and the Frysk Ljeppers Boun (FLB). We are very happy with this sponsorship agreement that ensures that we can take fierljeppen to a higher level.
